Welcome to Sun Coast Loop. These terms explain how you can use our website, which connects people in Southwest Florida with local businesses, deals, stories, events and communities. By using the site or creating an account, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. Who we are
Sun Coast Loop is a local network and directory. We are a media brand first and a directory second. Businesses, deals and stories on the site come from local business owners, community members and our own team. Contact us any time at info@suncoastloop.com.
2. Your account
- You can browse most of the site without an account. You need an account to recommend a business, send messages, add a business listing or publish a deal.
- You can sign up with an email and password, or with your Google or Facebook account. We ask you to confirm your email address before an email sign-up becomes active.
- Give us accurate information and keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- You may not create an account to pretend to be someone else, to spam, or to collect other people’s information.
3. Paid placements, recommendations and how we label them
We separate paid and earned visibility, and we label both:
- Paid placements. Featured listings, featured deals and sponsored stories are paid placements and always labeled. Paying for a placement buys exposure on the site. It is not a ranking, an endorsement or a recommendation by us.
- Local favorite. “Local favorite” is earned from neighbor recommendations and can not be bought.
- Neighbor recommendations. Recommendations come from people in local communities and from members of this site. A business cannot buy or change its recommendation count.
4. Business listings and deals
- If you add a business listing or a deal, you confirm that you own the business or are allowed to act for it, and that what you post is accurate and not misleading.
- New listings and deals are reviewed by our team before they go live. We may edit, decline, unpublish or remove any listing or deal, for example if it is inaccurate, unlawful, unsafe or breaks these terms.
- Upgrading a listing to a paid plan is a request. A paid plan only starts once we have agreed the price and payment with you, and we then switch it on. Prices and what each plan includes are shown on the List your business page and may change.
- A deal is an offer made by the business, not by us. The business is responsible for honoring it, for its end date and for its fine print. We do not guarantee any deal, price or availability.
5. Your content and our license to use it
You keep ownership of what you post, including listing text, photos, logos, deal pictures, profile details and messages. By posting it, you give us a free, worldwide license to host, display, resize and share it on the site and in promotion of the site, including on social media, for as long as it is on the site. You promise you have the right to post it, including the right to use any photos you upload.
6. Messages and community conduct
- Members can send messages to businesses through the site, and businesses can reply. Messages are private between the people in the conversation, and we email each side when a new message arrives.
- Be respectful. Do not send spam, advertising nobody asked for, threats, harassment, hate speech, or anything unlawful or deceptive.
- We may limit how fast you can send messages, and we may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
7. Links and other websites
The site links to other websites and services, such as business websites, Facebook, Instagram, Google Maps and Messenger. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices.
8. Our content
The Sun Coast Loop name, design, stories and other content we create belong to us or our licensors. You may share links to our pages, including on social media. Please do not copy our content in bulk or use it commercially without asking.
9. No guarantees
We work hard to keep the site accurate and running, but it is provided “as is”. Business details, hours, deals and events change, so please check with the business. To the fullest extent the law allows, Sun Coast Loop is not liable for losses that come from using the site, from a business’s products or services, or from dealings between members and businesses.
10. Closing your account
You can stop using the site at any time. To close your account and ask us to delete your information, email info@suncoastloop.com. We can also suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.
