This policy explains what information Sun Coast Loop collects, why we collect it, who sees it and what choices you have. We keep it short and plain. It goes with our Terms of Service.
1. Information we collect
- Account details. Your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored in a scrambled (hashed) form, never in plain text. If you sign up with Google or Facebook, we receive your name, your email address and an ID from that service. We do not receive your password for it.
- Profile details you add. Display name, first and last name, website, bio and profile photo.
- Business listings and deals. The business name, description, address, phone, website, social links, hours, services, photos and logo, deal details and pictures, and a private email address where messages for the business are sent.
- Recommendations. Which businesses you recommend.
- Messages. The messages you send and receive through the site.
- Technical information. Basic information your browser sends, such as your IP address and device type, and cookies that keep you logged in.
2. How we use it
- To run your account, keep you logged in and confirm your email.
- To show business listings, deals, stories and recommendation counts.
- To deliver messages between members and businesses, and to email you when you have a new message or a reply.
- To review and publish listings and deals, and to follow up on plan upgrades.
- To keep the site safe: limiting message sending, blocking spam and fixing problems.
- To answer your questions when you contact us.
3. Who can see your information
- The public can see business listings and deals you publish (including the contact details you put on them), and the number of neighbors who recommend a business. Your account profile is not shown publicly, and we do not publish a list of who recommended what.
- A business sees your name and the message when you message it. Your email address is not shown to the business, and a business’s private email is not shown to you.
- Our team can see accounts, listings and messages when needed to run and protect the site.
- Service providers that help us run the site, such as our hosting and email delivery providers, handle information on our behalf.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Cookies and third-party services
- We use cookies to keep you logged in and to keep the site secure. Without them, logging in would not work.
- If you choose Google or Facebook to log in, you are sent to that service, which has its own privacy policy.
- Business pages can show a Google Maps map, and some pages link to Facebook, Instagram or Messenger. Those services may set their own cookies and collect information when you use them.
- When you share a page to Facebook, Facebook receives the page’s address and details.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is open, and afterward only as long as we need it to run the site, meet legal duties and settle disputes.
6. Your choices
- You can edit your name, email, photo and bio on your profile page at any time, and edit or update your business listings and deals.
- You can remove a recommendation by recommending again (it toggles off), and remove photos you uploaded.
- To see, correct or delete your information, or to close your account, email info@suncoastloop.com.
- You can turn off cookies in your browser, but you will not be able to stay logged in.
7. Security
We protect your information with sensible measures, such as hashed passwords, email confirmation for new accounts and limits on message sending. No website can promise perfect security, so please use a strong password and keep it to yourself.
8. Children
Sun Coast Loop is meant for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If the changes are important, we will say so on the site.
